Sollace Freeman

Sollace “Mike” Freeman started his writing career late in life.

Sidelined from many volunteer activities by COVID, he revived work on an earlier novel in October 2018.

In his earlier careers, he was an Episcopal priest for forty years and a Naval Reserve Chaplain for thirty.

Shortly after retiring from the ministry, he became involved as a volunteer with an international charitable NGO that deployed Disaster Response Teams and relief supplies all over the world. During his seven years with ShelterBox, he made nineteen two and three-week deployments to nine countries.

Mike’s first book, “IF YOU CAN KEEP IT, The Loss of a Vision”, a political thriller as relevant today as it was when released, was published by Amazon in August 2020. It’s available on Amazon in paper and eBook format. It’s a great prequel to the hit movie “Civil War”!

His most recent book is a historical novel., “EXECUTIVE ORDER 9066”, published in April 2024 by Publish Authority of Atlanta. It is available on Amazon in paper, audiobook, and eBook format.

He is working on his third novel, with the working title “Blood in the Water”, which weaves the secret story of the large amount of illegal ivory and rare animals that come into the U.S. into a tragic and suspense-filled tale. Look for it in late 2025.

Mike has lived in Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky and Georgia. He took his B.A. from Centre College, Danville, KY in 1962, and his M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, VA in 1965.

He is an active member of the Northeast Georgia Writers and the Atlanta Writers Club.

Mike has three children and seven grandchildren.

His other hobbies are photography, carpentry and flying.

He, his wife Pat, and “Sassy-the-Shih-tzu, live in Gainesville, Georgia.
